Considering the amount of chasing and wrestling that happened not 20 minutes prior to this photo being taken, I have to say I’m stunned at his calm demeanor. Mr Poo here is actually laying down and kneading the couch in the vet’s office. I believe we should start looking for the star in the east. Little Miss Fuzzypants did a complete polar opposite to her normal, friendly demeanor and hid out under the couch.
The preliminary report is good. Both the babies have lost almost all the weight they needed. They’re no longer gorging their food, though they still don’t quite self feed. There’s only a little tartar on their teeth and pretty much everything else is normal. In all, they’re healthy cats that are clearly not suffering, despite their protestations at 7am and 5pm on the dot. (“Mommy feed us! We’re starving! Look at our ribs! You don’t love us any more!”)

4 vaccinations, 20 puncture wounds, two major gashes requiring bandaids, and the pierced eardrums from yowling: 85$US.
Cost of knowing my cats are overweight, active, and otherwise healthy in all regards? Priceless.
/limps off to find bandaids

The hubby has been up and around a little today but for the most part sitting on the couch. Ice packs on and off on 20 minute cycles and still not supremely hungry, but at least not nauseated any more. He slept with his guardians warming his body so he could bake away some of the injury and I just had to take this picture. Usually they get scared to death to go in this room because they’re not allowed. But because The Big Guy was there and hurt, I think they made an exception.

The kitten did not greet me this morning with her usual plaintive yowls (she meows for both her and her older brother). I thought this was odd because I’m usually assaulted and herded into the kitchen first thing in the morning, clothes or no, to get food for for the furry. Foolishly thinking I had some time on my hands, I took the rare moment to sit and enjoy the moment, possibly meditate for a few minutes in the peace.
