Je suis finis. It’s running now and I got more into it than I’d thought (but less than I had hoped). It’s not leaking all over my house. I consider that change alone a vast improvement.
UPDATE: HOLY WAH are my dishes clean! I had NO idea how badly my old dishwasher worked until I used a new one with the same soap and rinse aid. /dance /dance /dance
2nd UPDATE: Perhaps I spoke too soon. We have another leak. Not what I wanted to be dealing with nearing midnight.

Thank God and Goddess we had the forethought to get the City to shut off the water to let the plumber fix the main house water shutoff. DONE
Use said water shutoff as basement starts getting water in it. DONE
Thank God and Goddess again that my husband has the patience of a saint. DONE
Figure out dishwasher hates us and wants to go to appliance heaven. DONE
Find sympathetic Home Depot employee to help us quickly choose a replacement to be delivered before Pennsic. DONE. Note to Self: Send in Home Depot comment form for “Bill” who deserves a medal for dealing with me.
— Wash towels used to clean up cat litter “mud” created by water dripping from ceiling above pan. (Find full rag load to wash.)
Replace broken shutoff valve under sink. DONE
Thank Donas and wife and child for taking off part of Sunday to help with broken shutoff. DONE
— Wash dishes.

The picture itself really looks like nothing special, but represents the progress of the weekend. A broken tool, one that I’m okay with having broken, as it represents years of faithful service and great meals. This weekend has been punctuated by tools of varying sorts, this broken one included.
